we love the msida festa

we dropped by the festa in msida, the village where we live, this past weekend. maltese festas are held to celebrate the patron saint or other religious events in each village in malta throughout the year. a festa is truly a unique experience and an assault on the senses: the blinding explosions of fireworks, church bells tolling, the smell of deep fried snacks, marching bands playing, and lights and damask banners strung down the streets. how can you not love that?

p.s. can you believe july is more than half over?
