Maple Syrup Penance

Do you share this fear with me?

You're clearing out your camera or memory card or hard drive and just before you hit the Delete button you spot a folder. With never before seen photos!

That just happened to me. I saved these ones - a few snaps from an afternoon walk in Ottawa, Canada - from oblivion.

I've realized that I've visited the capital of Malta a hundred times more than I've visited Canada's capital city. And I forgot to wish our Canadian readers a Happy Canada Day (but I did wish our American readers a Happy Fourth - betraying my fascination with American culture and the country I've never been to). And I'm starting to like watching football more than hockey. And I call soccer football now.

I'm a bad Canadian.

I made french toast with maple syrup today as penance.

  1. Looks like you were in my neck of the woods ;) If you're ever back (though, why would anyone ever leave Malta for Ottawa?) let me know!

    1. Will do! I love Ottawa. It's on my list of places to try out if I do ever have to leave Malta :)

  2. Ahhh! I once accidentally deleted an entire day's worth of photos to my complete and utter horror. It truly must be one of the worst feelings ever. Glad you saved these ones from Ottawa. I've only been to Victoria before and I was in high school, but can remember that I loved it. It felt so European compared to the United States which was only a short ferry ride away. I'd love to go back for another visit sometime :)

    1. I did that too with our photos from Venice last year - there was an error when copying them between the card and the computer and I lost half. Yuck.

I've never been to Victoria but I've heard wonderful things about it. That's another strange thing - I've seen most major European cities and countries, but I've only seen less than half of Canada's major cities! And honestly, a road trip across the US is higher on my list. I really am a bad Canadian.

Let's talk.
