While Mike's dad was visiting us this month we took an early morning hike along the ridge that surrounds Ghajn Tuffieha beach. The beach was practically deserted, save for some sleepy campers. And it was hot. Let me tell you, the best part of hiking around a beach in 35°C/95°F weather (before humidity!) is that glorious dip in the sea at the end. Unlike past years, Ghajn Tuffieha is currently sandy and gloriously free of seaweed. Perfection.
Look familiar? Ghajn Tuffieha is also the beach where Mike and I spent countless hours during our first stay in Malta four years ago. How time flies!
p.s. best not to attempt this hike in the winter or after a rainfall - those clay hills turn to slick, slippery
mountains of terror inclines that are nearly impossible to climb.
