What do you eat when you're hungover?

The one reader survey question I will disclose answers to - but, no names, promise! - was my ice breaker:

What do you eat after a night of too much wine? (We've all been there.)

I eat McDonald's cheeseburgers (but only in Europe, they taste better here) or, when I'm in Canada, I scarf down Hawaiian pizza from this little family-run joint in my hometown. And sometimes Mike makes me a skillet (hash browns with scrambled eggs and fresh vegetables on top, and lots of Heinz ketchup) because he's usually the first one up and at'er after a night of indulgences.

Your answers made me chuckle (and gave me some ideas!) Some of my favourites were:

McDonalds fries, pizza, and hot dogs were the most often cited indulgences, but cheese was the clear winner.
I had to say, cheese sort of surprised me!

I'm curious: (if you didn't participate in the survey) What do you eat after too many glasses of wine?

  1. When we know we are going to be having a rough morning post party we always plan ahead and my husband makes me a sandwich consisting of buttered toast, bacon, fried egg, melted cheese and hot sauce. So divine

  2. Hahaha, love this Jess. I usually just wallow and don't eat anything - but I got a kick out of the Baguette Camembert and more wine :) Love what you did with the graphics! xx

  3. Haha, these are wonderful! Lately, (not to say that this happens often), I've been making poached eggs, sautéed spinach with garlic and pepper, and a slice of beaufort/comté, all eaten with a big hunk of bread. The hearty nutrients usually revive me in no time ;)

    1. That sounds divine, I'll definitely be trying that someday. (Beaufort...mmmm...)

  4. Ooooo more wine. Clever! Yes, I think this goes without saying! :D

Let's talk.
