Stroke of colour: Zurich in black and white

The one idea I could not shake when I was in Zurich earlier this month was this: It is meant to be seen in black and white.

It's one of those rare places that is very nearly naturally black and white all over, but in the very best way, revealing unexpected shapes and patterns. Sombre, cool, and austere - all of these words seem inadequate to describe it.

I'll let the photos speak instead.

  1. Jess, these may be my favorite pictures of yours yet! Any chance we will start seeing your prints in the Paint Stroke Store anytime soon? (Ahem... swan photo...)

    1. Oh gosh, I'm not sure! I'd never really thought about it. I'll be sure to let you know if I decide to in the future :)

    2. I agree with Jess - these are gorgeous & I would imagine there would be interest in the Paint Stroke shop as well.

(PS I'm surprised you got so close to the swan after your debacle at Versailles..hehe.)

    3. I forgot to note, Jay, that Swiss swans are much nicer. Their growls sound more like purrs. They're sort of cute and fluffy, really. ;)

Let's talk.
