I am a cliche*

Canadian girl moves to Mediterranean to study abroad and starts an expat blog.

Travels throughout Europe and documents it.

Gets engaged and blogs about her wedding.

Gets a job and struggles adjusting to life as a professional with a coffee addiction.

Words build up but are never typed out.

Blog lays dormant.

When the most exciting parts of your life are about your work, when you travel a little less and censor a little more, when your camera lays gathering dust, what is left to write about?

That's me right now, navigating the life of a 9-5'er. Figuring out what to do next.

This isn't a very poignant post to break the silence, but maybe it's a start.

*And I'm mostly OK with it.

  1. I don't think you're a cliche. I think you're pretty bloody special.

  2. Life is life and occasionally that results in different forms of silences. It doesn't make you a cliche, it just makes you human.

  3. So true. So incredibly true. - Signed sincerely yours, the expat who 6 mths into her new job still struggles to find blogging time. And I'm also mostly ok with it. Figuring it out can be fun too.

    1. SO glad I'm not the only one going through this. I feel a bit ridiculous complaining about finding the time to blog, because I'm grateful to be busy, but it's nice to know I'm not alone regardless :) Loving your London Instagrams, by the way!

  4. I don't think you're a cliché, either - but I do think you're in good company with this! there's a season for everything, including blogging, but that doesn't mean that words can't exist in different forms throughout.
